Golfers, Scotland is Calling is the Revised and Expanded 2nd Edition of A Stroll on the Old Lady.
This book features the new story about Askernish — a course that was laid out by Old Tom Morris in 1891 on the Hebridean Isle of South Uist. The journey to get to this remote destination and the adventure of playing the course itself is an extraordinary experience. I hope to inspire other passionate golf pilgrims to find their way there so they can discover the charm and the challenge of the game of golf. These links are the most natural you will ever encounter — it’s truly like nothing else in the world.
Other additions to the Golfers book include Author’s Notes on some marvelous changes (and one tragic — the burning of the Machrihanish clubhouse) in the Scottish golf scene.
Releasing the book during the COVID pandemic had its highlights, like being able to speak about it on the Ray Adams radio talk show. Ray is an incredible host — always entertaining and enlightening.
